Study of a Sacred Space

The central space of Heinz Tesar’s Donau City Church is studied to understand how building form can create varying effects with daylight. In this case, a grid of small windows across the walls captures the motion of the sun throughout the day to generate atmospheric light, whereas a skylight over the altar and large corner subtractions allow direct light to wash over interior surfaces.
