Schenley Plaza Chapel

This project responds to a brief for a small non-denominational chapel on the northern edge of Schenley Plaza in Pittsburgh. The program is minimal, consisting of a main building, washroom, sacristy, and bell tower. These volumes, along with openings, elevation changes, and a single shelf for votive candles, are composed on site to create alignments and spatial relationships that define the churchgoer’s experience.
